Real local service from North Lapeer County
Hey, I’m the guy behind Lapeer Hydro. This isn’t some big corporate outfit or a fancy landscaping company from the city. This is a North Lapeer County business, through and through. We’re based right here in the Thumb area, and we plan on keeping it that way.
I didn’t start this just to have a summer gig. I wanted to build something real — a company that does good work, treats people right, and gives local young guys a solid shot at learning a useful trade.
Around here, you see a lot of new homes going up, older properties that need some love, and spots where the ground washes out after heavy rains. Traditional seeding takes forever and often fails. Sod costs a fortune and can be a pain to get right in our heavy clay soils. Hydroseeding hits that sweet spot — it’s fast, it works, and it looks great.
But I didn’t want to stop at just spraying lawns. I wanted to build a crew of good, hardworking young men who actually learn how to run the equipment, mix the right slurry, and take real pride in what they do.
We call our custom mix the “green-blue cocktail.” It’s specially tuned for the soil and weather conditions in North Lapeer County and eastern Oakland County. It’s not some generic bag from the big box store — it’s our own blend that germinates fast, handles our crazy Michigan weather, and gives you thick, healthy grass that actually lasts.
One of the best parts of this business is bringing on young men who want to learn. We’re not looking for perfect resumes. We’re looking for guys with good character, a strong work ethic, and the willingness to show up and put in the effort.
If you’re reliable, honest, and ready to work hard, we want to talk to you. No BS. No drama. Just straight-up work, fair pay, and the chance to learn a real skill — operating hydroseeding equipment, mixing custom batches, prepping job sites, and delivering quality results for customers.
I’ve run other businesses in the past that were named a Top Workplace for several years in a row. That didn’t happen by accident. It came from treating people right, being honest, and building a culture where folks actually want to show up. That same mindset is baked into Lapeer Hydro from day one.
I’ve spent a lot of years running businesses, and I wanted to prove I could do it again — this time starting small and smart. Lapeer Hydro was launched on a real shoestring budget. We bought good used equipment, kept overhead low, and focused on doing the job right instead of blowing money on fancy marketing.
Because we run things lean, we can pass more value on to you — the customer. That means competitive pricing without cutting corners on materials or service. No hidden fees. No upselling stuff you don’t need. Just honest recommendations and solid work.
We serve the real North Lapeer County area — Metamora, North Branch, Lapeer, Dryden, Attica, Hadley, and the eastern side of Oakland County (Oxford, Addison, and nearby). These are our roads, our neighbors, and our communities. When you call us, you’re calling local guys who understand the soil, the weather, and how things work around here.
We’re not trying to be the biggest hydroseeding outfit in Michigan. We just want to be the best one you can call in our area — the one that shows up when they say they will, does the job right, and stands behind it.
Lapeer Hydro is still growing, but the foundation is solid. We’re adding equipment as we go, training more good people, and focusing on doing right by our customers and our crew.
Whether you’ve got a big new construction lawn, patchy spots from last winter, a slope that’s washing out, or just want a thicker, greener yard, we’re here for it.
This business is about more than grass. It’s about creating good local jobs, giving young men a chance to learn a trade, and delivering real value to families and builders in North Lapeer County and beyond.
