Frequently Asked Questions

Hydroseeding in Lapeer & Oakland County

What is hydroseeding?

Hydroseeding is a fast, efficient method of planting grass by spraying a slurry of seed, mulch, fertilizer, and water. It provides excellent coverage and higher germination rates than traditional seeding or sod in most cases.

How much does hydroseeding cost?

Most residential new lawns range from $0.15 – $0.22 per sq ft. See our Pricing page for details. We always provide a custom quote after reviewing your property.

When is the best time to hydroseed in Michigan?

Fall (late August – mid October) is usually the best, followed by spring (late April – mid June). Summer is possible but requires consistent watering.

Do you serve Oakland County?

Yes. We regularly work in Addison, Oxford, Orion, Holly, Brandon, and surrounding townships from our Metamora base.

Should I get a soil test first?

Yes — we strongly recommend an MSU soil test. It helps us customize the seed mix for your specific soil conditions.

How long until the grass grows?

Germination usually starts in 7–14 days. You’ll have good coverage in 4–6 weeks with proper watering.

Do you offer native grass or wildflower mixes?

Yes! We specialize in custom native grass, wildflower, and low-maintenance blends.

What makes Lapeer Hydro different?

We use a smaller, agile hydroseeder with an on-site water nurse tank. This allows us to finish jobs faster with fewer delays compared to larger operations.
